The kitchen is the heart of the house and particularly in today’s more open-plan houses, it’s one that often takes center stage. With just a few neat styling tricks, you can take your kitchen from fine to fabulous! Learning the art of kitchen styling will assist always when needed for personal or decorating projects. Here are some great tips and ways to style your kitchen.

 

Bookshelf or wall shelf

One of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to update your kitchen is to nix some upper cabinets and replace them with shelves instead. Whether you're budgeting for a full-scale remodel or you just want a small update, these kitchen shelving ideas will help steer you in the right direction. Type of useful shelving:

Canister with utensils
Utensil canisters are very handy and a quick reach when cooking. There are amazing decorated and in a variety of material, metal wood ceramic and even glass. Also, everything is all in one place, and you can hang the rod at eye-level, which means no more bending down when you need a dish rag or a spoon or spatula.

Define Your Zones
Before you start organizing your kitchen, assess your entire kitchen and group cabinets and drawers into zones. The easiest way to do this is to have a notepad and pen and write it down, including which items belong in which zones. Here’s an example of what that would be like.  All posts in one area, a shelf, or a wide drawer for the plates. Spices cabinet and near the cooking stations. glasses near the coffee area or kettle, and so on.

Create a little Coffee Bar area. 
If you wake up every morning in need of a cup of coffee, consider using open shelving or small space to create a coffee bar in your kitchen. This project can be as simple as adding a couple of shelves above the coffee pot or as elaborate as the setup and can make a clear glass with coffee pods.

 Familiar with the struggle of trying to find the cinnamon or the garlic powder among more than a dozen other spices in varying-sized containers with no organizational system? It’s time for a change, and that means putting all your spices in one place, in more functional containers, and having a method that makes them both easy to access and aesthetically pleasing.

Layered arrangement
One of our favorites ‘go-to’ styling tricks in the kitchen is to create a layered arrangement resting against a wall or your splashback. For example, a cutting board or two, salt and pepper grinders, and smaller décor pieces such as canisters or small pinch bowls instantly add the style to your kitchen. The best tip to getting this right is to think about ‘contrast’ mix shapes (such as round and rectangular cutting board), size, materials colors.
